Single Step, Lancaster
Single Step Co-op originally opened as radical bookshop on King Street in Lancaster, selling books on feminism, left-wing politics, philosophy, natural health and wholefood cookery, which also sold dried wholefoods.
In the face of a climate emergency they focus on making wholefoods with a low environmental impact and great taste available to as many people as possible.

Unicorn Grocery, Chorlton
Unicorn Grocery began in 1996 with a simple mission: to make wholesome, affordable food accessible to all, without compromising our ethics. Founded by a small group of co-operators, we’ve grown into one of the UK’s largest and most successful worker-owned co-operatives.
We believe in doing things differently—offering good food at fair prices, working without bosses, and ensuring that every decision reflects our values: ecology, social justice, and co-operation.

Gather Food Hub, Lancaster District
Gather is the place to shop for the food you love,
grown locally and seasonally in North Lancashire.
By shopping at Gather, you’re joining a community working together
to build a healthy, resilient local food economy, complementing and supporting
existing food enterprises and strengthening the viability of small
local producers across our region.
The online shop opens weekly from Fridays at 2pm until Tuesdays at 10am, with deliveries the following Friday.

Growing with Grace
Growing with Grace provides local communities with fresh, locally grown organic foods. They have been growing and supplying organic vegetables for over 20 years. They provide weekly Organic Vegetable Boxes and Grocery Deliveries to Lancaster and surrounding areas, South Cumbria, Skipton, the Yorkshire Dales, Ilkley and Otley. They also sell directly from their farm shop.
